We opened a role at Focus Lab recently. Here are 9 insider tips to help you put your best foot forward.
Tell us about yourself beyond your career history. We're often more interested in getting to know you than reviewing a list of past achievements.
Degrees and certifications are fine to mention, but we don't put a ton of weight on those merits alone. Show us your skills and your journey.
Don't stress about appearing perfect in your application or interviews. Just be yourself.
You'll probably notice something strange we ask you to address. That's us checking that you read the whole thing.
Check out our Core Values — do they resonate? Tell us why, and be specific. This is how we both learn if it's a good match.
Triple-digit applicants for a single role is normal. We put a lot of care into our process, so expect gaps between communications. Don't assume the worst.
Multiple people on our team didn't make it their first time around. The hardest part of this process for us is saying "no" to great people.
We want people who embrace AI — but there's a difference between thinking partner and copy-paste. When every applicant gives us the same word-for-word answer, it's a big red flag.
